Want to learn to Quilt? Join our Beginning Quilting class! This class will introduce piecing and quilting by machine using the rotary cutter. Students will learn tips and tricks--- from choosing fabrics to piecing--- to make their quilting journey a successful one. Students should be comfortable with their sewing machine before class starts.
This class will be held over 4 class sessions. Each session will run from 10:30 am- 3:30 pm with a 30 minute break for lunch in the middle. Please bring a sack lunch that is quick to eat so you can maximize your work time.
Students will have the option to make a baby or a lap sized quilt. Fabric requirements will be discussed during the first class session and there will be some time to shop. There WILL be homework with this class. A basic tools supply list is listed below, and don't forget to shop with us to take advantage of your 20% class discount!
Tools Supply List
- A loose-leaf binder and 30 page protectors
- Notebook paper and pencil
- Sewing Machine, cord, foot control pedal, a walking foot and a 1/4" foot
- New size 80/12 sewing machine needles --- Universals or Microtex sharps
- Basic sewing kit --- pins, tape measure, seam ripper, scissors
- Rotary Mat, cutter, and two rulers --- 6" x 24" and 6" x 12" (We have Rotary Mats available for use during class)
- 100% cotton thread in a neutral color
