Boxy Tote Class

Looking for a great size tote bag? You can make your own Boxy Tote in this 6-hour class (broken up over 2 class sessions)! The first class, on Monday, September 23rd, will have 2 hours of instruction time (10:30 am-12:30 pm) and then the classroom will be available (we are open until 5 pm) for you to stay and continue working in order to complete your homework for the next class (please feel free to bring a lunch or there are lots of great local eateries!). Then you will finish putting your bag together on Monday, September 30th in a 4-hour instructional period (10:30 am-2:30 pm).

The Boxy Tote was designed to hold a Singer Featherweight Sewing Machine but is a wonderful size for all kinds of things! It has a rigid metal frame that holds the mouth of the bag open and offers protection for its contents. This Boxy Tote is great for knitting projects, sewing supplies, it can even make a great diaper bag! Approximate finished size: 14 inches wide x 12 inches tall x 11 inches deep.

In order to successfully accomplish this project within the class time, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you come to class with your materials pre-cut. There is a cutting guide in the pattern that can be used to label your cut materials. If you use this cutting guide and be sure you have materials pre-cut for every label on the guide, you will be set up for a successful class! While cutting, pay close attention to which pieces you are cutting and how you would like your fabric placement on your finished piece.
