Finishing Your Quilt 101
Your quilt top is finished. What do you do now? In this class, we will...
*Make a quilt sandwich with the quilt top, batting, and backing.
* Machine quilt the sandwich with a basic stitch in the ditch method using invisible thread.
* Discuss how to bind and complete the quilt.
Supplies Needed:
-Finished quilt top (twin size or smaller)
-Backing Fabric (pieced together, if needed, to make it big enough for your quilt)
-Batting
-Sewing machine, cord, foot etc.
-Basic sewing supplies-scissors, pins, seam ripper, etc.
-Invisible thread - clear or smoke.
-Fabric marking pen/pencil.
-Binding fabric-cut into four 2 1/4 inch strips x width of fabric (WOF).
-Blue painters tape and 50-100 curved safety pins for quilting.
-Walking foot or stitch in the ditch quilting foot.
-Optional- Fons and Porter binding tool
Plan to arrive 15 minutes before class starts to unload and set up the sewing machine, etc.

Requirements: | Basic sewing skills are required. You need to be familiar with the operation of your sewing machine and be able to sew a straight line. Must have a pieced quilt top (twin size or smaller) ready for finishing. |
