Our Ninth Block of the month is ready for you to pick up starting Monday, June 6 The ninth block is called "Card Games" and here is some fun information about the history of card games.

Block 9 - Card Games

During the 1930s, card games were hugely popular with children. Kay “Snap” is one that was developed in England during this period and played widely in the U.S. It was often a child’s first introduction to card games. The Kay “Snap” card game included these nine cards (also showing the reverse), for a total of 36 cards. See below. The rules of the Snap game were very simple, as shown in this leaflet. The object of the game was to win all the cards. The card titles, inscriptions, and rules are set in Gill Sans typeface, which first appeared in 1928.
